The Homegoing of Dave "Wavy Dave" Chambers...The Jackson State University Mascot. Wavy Dave is a man that touched hearts or fans and children over the United States. Go home and rest my friend. You never let anything stop you in life.


Before I joined the Sonic Boom family in 1990. I met Wavy at a JSU home basketball game about 1989. Somehow I won somekind of 3 point contest during halftime. Wavy was going around tossing confetti in a bucket on people. Then later, I felt something getting dunked on me. It was water!!! I stood there in shock. I kind on laughed for a sec. But next thing I know I was tossed out of the basketball game!!!

I stood outside and then Wavy came out and said he was sorry. I told him not problem. He also said that he was ejected as well.....It was real funny and the both of us had several laughs and where friends ever since.

1991 Capital City Classic (JSU vs Alcorn game)
Pop had an ideal for a skit for the JSU Sonic Boom hlaftime show. He let me know what it was and that Wavy Dave was big part of the skit as well. So right before the Sonic Boom started the dance routine. Up went a Indian Tee Pee......I jumped inside........


The Sonic Boom started playing the Alcorn Braves theme music....

Then out I popped dressed with a Indian outfit with the traditional headress and war paint on.

Wavy "BEAT" me up and toook my tomahawk and "SCALPED" me!!!!!!!
